Chinese New Year

Our first free community event of 2018 is celebrating the Chinese New Year, The Year of the Dog, on Sunday 18th February from 1pm to 6pm.

We are very happy to have linked up with our local Chinese Community Gateway to ensure that the event is authentic and celebrates the new year in style!

We have many exciting events on throughout the day such as the fabulous Chinese Lion dancer who will be "blessing" local businesses in the traditional way with a Lettuce - we won't spoil the surprise just say it's great fun!

All things chinese will be available in our FREE craft tent for the children to choose from - a chinese dragon or maybe a lantern? The children will also receive a lucky red envelope with an authentic chinese coin and a fortune cookie for good luck in the year ahead!

We will have lots of other Chinese events from a chinese choir to hot, fresh tasty food on offer to keep the winter chill at bay while you wait to see the Firework Finale at 6pm.

As it's the year of the Dog and we are a nation of dog lovers what better than a Dog show for local pampered pooches to enter and show off - all before the Fireworks of course! We do hope the owners will pop back to enjoy those without their pets.

This is a free event although their will be some items such as food and the kiddie fairground where charges will apply.
