One Great Day is an annual event held in shopping centres across the UK to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital and a local charity of our choice. This is the first year we at The Walnuts have decided to take part, to give something back to two great causes. We have chosen to support The Maypole Project as the local partner charity for all the fabulous work they do supporting very local families in Orpington and the Bromley Borough.
We regularly hold community events for all our visitors to enjoy free of charge and feel proud we can do this for local families to enjoy. We hope you will feel that for “One Great Day” you will support our fundraising efforts whilst you enjoy our brilliant line up of entertainment for the whole family on Saturday 2nd June from 10am-4pm.
We will ask for donations of your choice to take part in ;
Meeting the Rescued Donkeys and enjoy a ride on your favourite around the arena. Learn how they were rescued and are now happily looked after. They are always grateful for a carrot so please bring one along with you.
or why not come along to the Reptile Shows throughout the day and listen to the interesting information from their handlers. Find out where they are from in the wild and maybe get to hold one if you’re brave enough.
We will also have Crazy Golf and our Craft tent for lots of fun activities to try.
