About the market

A well established Market in the heart of Orpington, the space is situated in the prime shopping area of Orpington in the centre of The Walnuts Shopping Centre that experiences annual footfall of 6.5 million visitors per year. It's close to the very popular Odeon Cinema and 80 bed Premier Inn and directly edged by the local library, leisure centre and Orpington College. Orpington town High Street is located just outside the Walnuts Shopping Centre with it's many cafes, retailers and bars.

Come and experience a great local shopping experience for all the family; a place for the community to meet, eat and relax and where our local businesses can test out ideas as well as having strong, well-known traders offering high quality produce. With great transport links and easy parking, Orpington Market is a great place to come and get your good stuff.

History

First established in 1990 by previous owners of The Walnuts Shopping Centre, the market today has seen considerable investment with a new look market launched in September 2017 following a successful bid to The Mayors High Street Fund.

Parking At The Walnuts

Charges start from just £1 per hour rising to £4 for six hours. The perfect excuse to come for the day, see the market, visit the cinema or eat out!!

Travelling to Orpington by Bus

Orpington is well served for buses on routes R2, 51, 61, 208, 353, 358, 477, 654, 684, B14, N199, R1, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R9, R10, R11

Travelling to Orpington by Train

Served by London Stations and just half an hour from London Bridge to the North, there are also trains from Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells and Hastings to the South.

Travelling to Orpington by Car

Taking the 4th Junction from the M25 follow the A224 to Orpington town centre from where you will pick up the signs for The Walnuts Shopping Centre and Car Park.

With annual footfall of 6.5 million going through The Walnuts Shopping Centre, Market Square sits in the heart of the town. Orpington College, the local authority Leisure Centre & Library sits to one side of the square, while the other sides are serviced by shops and a new ODEON cinema.

You can pay on the day by debit or credit card or Apple Pay.

We do not accept cash payment.

Markets offer a low cost, low risk platform to test trade a new business and at Orpington Market there are special rates and incentives for local entrepreneurs. To make an application, give Paul or Belinda a call on 01689 832923.

New Stalls

We have a limited number of stalls for hire.

Branded in the markets new colours our stalls can be put up and taken down for you each day. Traders wishing to bring their own stalls must first talk to the Market Manager.

We are always happy to help new traders or those wanting to try out a business idea or if your new to the area and looking for a great place to relocate to then we would love to hear from you.
